Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Lynne and i’m a contemporary mixed media artist based in Sheffield. Living and working in a village on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District, I’m particularly interested in the concepts of seasonal change and weather patterns. I’m a qualified teacher, with A-levels in Art and Biology, teaching Science and Art for most of my professional career. In 2000 I set out to nurture my love of the creative arts. I left teaching to follow a Fine Art Honours Degree at Sheffield Hallam University, also completing a Masters Degree in Photography at Leicester De Montfort University. I now pursue my love of art full time.

My artwork is very much an emotional response to my natural surroundings, rather than a physical representation, and is semi abstract in approach. Saying this, more recently I have explored abstract art techniques. I love the unique translucent qualities of the medium of watercolour, but I also enjoy a mixed media approach. I emphasise a more textural response through mark making. My art explores the atmospherics and dynamics of the natural world over time. For further details on my artistic ethos please see my Artist Statement. For my CV and more information about my artistic approach please visit the About Me page.
