Intuitive mini-abstracts and free expression
Just me in my home studio!
Here you see six mini-abstracts on acrylic paper which are made on acrylic paper divided up using edging tape. Very satisfying! Some I develop further and some I leave alone depending on the outcome. In either case the essence of this is to rely on what you remember seeing and feeling outside rather than get any assists from photos. Its amazing what your brain will absorb and the more you do this exercise the easier it becomes and so does the quality of your mark making.
Layering is very beneficial too. I get great pleasure in adding 3 or 4 layers through a week lets say and rubbing off some bits before they dry to reveal marks and colours below. I just love revealing the hidden.
