Hello and welcome to my website. I live and work on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District. I'm a contemporary visual artist who makes fine art paintings. In 2000 I started on the road to fulfilling a promise I made to myself to nurture my love of the creative arts. I left teaching temporarily to follow a Fine Art Honours Degree at Sheffield Hallam University then a Masters Degree in Photography in Leicester- De Montfort University.

My original artwork is semi-abstract or abstract in nature and is composed of a variety of different mediums, such as ink, acrylics, and pastels. I believe that working in many different mediums allows me to explore different textures and painterly effects.

My fine art paintings are inspired by the landscape of the Derbyshire Peak District where I live. More particularly I look closely at how each season changes in light levels, colours, temperature and growth habit. Fleeting reflections and shadows fascinate me.

I'm also able to supply fine art Giclee prints of original artwork or specialist photographic prints of photograms - an early form of photography without the use of a camera.
